Cairns and Palm Cove

Some holiday snaps:

Exploring the parks and gardens of Cairns and Palm Cove has ignited a new gardening obsession...  I now NEED to have a tropical garden in the backyard and around the pool area!  Some of the extraordinary plants we saw:

Arriving home late last night we had a quick dinner at one of our favourite haunts and it was just so good to be home!

  4. Just looked it up - go to "settings" then "comments" and then turn word verification on.

Love the water pics - I had to use water to get my son to be in a pic when he was little. Also, that first pink flower/unidentified plant is "out there". In a good way.

  6. That first photo is just gorgeous Emma. Looks like you had a great time. Having just experienced the weather in Sydney I agree - you should absolutely have a tropical garden. The last flower (is it ginger?) I remember from a holiday we had at near Mission Beach. The garden surrounding the house we stayed in was stunning - all colourful flowers, big leaves, lush foliage combined with large expanses of lawn. The cassowaries would come wondering down from the forest in the late afternoon and stroll around - just like another world! And tropical plants compliment water so well... Looking forward to lots of garden posts from you!

  7. Fab photos, Emma. Yet again! I particularly love the top one - well done on getting one with you in it. It's such a rare occasion that happens on PB ☺. It really looks like you were able to relax which is often a challenge with children and all the organisation they require. I'm so happy for you.

Oh, and you should be able to delete those odd comments - on my blog, I have little rubbish bins next to the comments which I can click on. Have a look to see if you do as well. J x

  8. I love Palm Cove! The kids look so gorgeous and happy. I love the python too - I always have a 'cuddle' with one when we're up there! That's a great shot of you and your little one in the pool too..Rachaelxx

  9. Welcome back Emma. What an amazing trip. You know I'm ashamed to say I've never been to Cairns. I've only been as far north as Airlie Beach (I sailed there as a kid). What brilliant shots and I can so understand why you now want a tropical garden. What wonderful shapes and colours. The boys look like they had a blast. They are very brave holding that snake. Love the first shot of you in the pool and the second one with the water too. Hope you're all refreshed now and ready for the silly season. Pruxxx

  10. P.S. Thanks also Emma for your lovely comments on my posts. You know, our house is t i n y! I love it but it does do my head in. I'm really hoping one day we'll be able to afford to put the deck on and create a room downstairs for the boys... One day! P.S. I'll put the address of my framers on my Christmas tree post. I'd love you to stop by. Pruxxx
