A salty, sandy Christmas in Sydney

  1. Seasons Greetings to you Emma, it looks like a wonderful beach-piratey time was had by all.

I gave big bunches of dark purple Agapanthus to all the homes we visited on Christmas day, it was lovely to see them featured at your place. What is the red/pink/white bloom, I love the shades?

Your last pirate image is terrific, he looks like he's surveying all possibilities for the adventures which lay ahead.

  2. Just gorgeous, Emma. I really miss the upended dinghies in storage - such a Sydney sight. And the beach photos are just delightful - it looks like they really enjoy playing together. J x

  3. Wonderful pictures..I love the one of the king surveying his kingdom. And the profile shot too.

Oh, and the boats - I love the perspective!

Your Christmas looks like it was very peaceful.

  5. Hi Emma, season's greetings! Your photos are just stunning - those pink flowers - is it a shrub? a tree? I'm in garden mode and one of my 'goals' for the new year is to learn how to propagate plants from seed and cutting rather than buying everything from the nursery - it's getting so expensive (although I have informed my husband of your plant spend - house value ratio!)

Oh, and no I don't have a real tagine - I would love to cook with something so beautiful and exotic but I don't even have a gas hob and popping a tagine on the electric hotplate would look ridiculous (and it's probably just plain ineffective)! I used to use my enamelled cast iron casserole (until I set it on fire - so now it lives in the kids' backyard 'kitchen'. Now I just use a covered baking dish. I do have a great recipe though - it's from 'Campion and Curtis in the Kitchen'. The best blend of spices I've found. Happy to share if you're interested!

Hope you're having a beautiful summer!
