Look what I found!

After dropping the Captain off at pre-school this morning, the baby and I raced around a few of our local op shops and look what I found!

This divine vintage pyrex bowl, which is going to be used to house the rest of my boring and non-vintage pyrex bowls! Four dollars!!!!

And the discovery of the morning, this lovely unchipped, immaculate (and genuine!) Cornishware vase... Five dollars!!!!!  (Flowers from my mother-in-law, thank you Pat!) The stack of books, yes picked all of them up this morning... 50 cents each!  I am so pleased with my mornings shopping!

  1. No! You have to be kidding, Emma. Really? Gosh, no wonder you ran to the computer to share these with us - I would have as well! Just fabulous. The cute patterned bowl is a real find. And Cornishware gets me every time. Not to mention all those lovely looking reads. Enjoy, lovely girl! J x

  2. SHUT UP!!! (I mean that in the American "No way you're kidding" sense. Fantastic finds! I have a few of those books and they cost WAY more than 50 cents new. And I could weep at your beautiful aqua butterprint bowl, I have the blue on white version, very jealous!

  3. I went op shopping today too! A couple of vintage cotton sheets to make some kids pjs, a nice wicker basket with a handle (can't go past a basket) and some cute enamelware pots and pans for the toddler to play kitchen with. Oh and a lovely old metal wash basin which will become a planter. But my finds were not quite as cheap as yours. 50c is sheer bargain basement for those lovely looking books! I find it hard to find those real bargains these days...

We're going to be in Sydney next week - business for Stephen, tag along holiday for the rest of us. I was wondering if you might share the secret location of your waterfall? It looks magical - but I totally understand if you'd rather not! my email is sarahbendeich@iinet.net.au

  4. Emma...I hate to be the one to tell you this but...that vase really doesn't go with your house. Blue and white against white??? That look is so over. Tell you what, as a favor, I'll take it off your hands. Really, no need to thank me, I'm just that kind of girl. I like to help people out. You know what, while you're at it you go on and send me that bowl too. Do you really need another bowl?

i find the bigger op shops are way too expensive & love the little old granny ones the best.

  9. Thank you everyone for sharing the excitement!

Thrifted Treasure - I thought of you and your fabulous pyrex collection as soon as I spotted the bowl!

Sarah - I just sent you an email!

Julia - ha ha!!! I will keep an eye out for one for you though! My friend Veronica's dad lives in Boca Raton so if I find another I will send it over with her for you!

Sarah - I think we would make fabulous shopping partners!

Cathie - Yes, St Vincent is really expensive, I still like the Salvation Army Store shops though and as you said the best are the little church ones!

Melissa - you are quite right. I have had some wonderful days out with the little one!

    Thanks again everyone!!!!
